The
ACJ ten-month post graduate diploma course in journalism
gives the students an option of choosing between the print and
the
broadcast streams. SAF is planning to give stipends
to those who top the grades and wish to travel in other South
Asian countries to write on themes of regional cooperation.
It was at the Asian College of Journalism
(ACJ) in Chennai, India, that the Group Scholarships programme was
first developed in 2002, in which scholarships are annually given
in groups to a young woman and a man selected from each of the eight
South Asian countries to study jointly for a post graduate diploma
course. It is dedicated to equipping young people not only with the
necessary professional skills but also with the broad knowledge, integrity
and social commitment to make them outstanding journalists. Students
admitted to the College study in one of the four media streams
Print , Television, Radio & New Media.
