Starting from 2004, SAF has proposed to fund 10,000 scholarships in higher education and vocational training for marginalized students with social and economic disadvantages.

Selected bright young students from South Asian countries will be provided with financial support to study in open universties in the region through the distance learning programme to bring them on a par with students from the upper strata of society.
